Unblocking of Basin – the method used in unblocking a basin will depend on how clogged the basin is. For light clogging a plunger can be used. For heavy clogging one will have to unscrew the ‘trap’ which is the U Shaped part of the pipe found below the sink. The period of time taken to unblock a basin will depend on how clogged the basin is anything from half an hour upwards.
Unblocking of Drainage Pipes – firstly find where the drain is blocked by inspecting the drain from the property. A set of drain rods or a power washer is used to unblock the drain by pushing the rods back and forth and turning them clockwise until the blockage has been removed. The period of time taken to unblock a drainage pipe will depend on how clogged the drain is, anything from half an hour upwards
Fixing Burst Pipes – the method used to repair the burst pipe will depend on the material the pipe is made from. Pipes are made from metal or plastic. A metal pipe is repaired by replacing the raptured part whilst a plastic pipe is repaired by patching the raptured part. Repairing a burst pipe will depend on the complexity of finding the raptured part and the size of the rapture, anything from an hour upwards
Water Pressure Balancing – pressure balancing will keep the flow of water the same even when another tap in the same property is opened. A pressure balance valve is used to keep the flow of water unaffected by opening another tap. Pressure balancing usually takes approximately one hour.
Toilet Installation – toilet installation can be done by drilling holes into the floor and then attaching the toilet to the holes or by using cement to hold the toilet. Toilet installation could take around two hours
Bath Installation – bath installation is done when a new bathroom is built or when an old bath needs replacement. Bath installation requires you to have knowledge on plumbing as the process involves connecting the drainpipes and all other plumbing fixtures. Bath installation could take approximately six hours.
Sink Installation – the method you will use to install your sink will depend on the type of sink. There is the under mount sink which is installed on a counter and the pedestal sink which requires a wall to support it. Sink installation usually takes approximately one hour.
Geyser Installation – geyser installation enables hot water to run directly from a tap. A tank is placed in the roof trusses just above the ceiling and connected to an energy source that will be used to heat the water. Geyser installation usually takes approximately six hours.
Installation of Septic Tank – there are two types of septic tanks; there is a concrete septic tank and a plastic septic tank. Installing a septic tank involves digging a hole that has been previously measured to suit the size of the septic tank so that it can be placed in the hole. The septic tank will require to be connected to the property’s plumbing system. Installing a septic tank can take approximately five days.
Installation of Dish Washer – installation of a dishwasher involves connecting the dishwasher to an electricity source, to the hot water supply, to an air gap and to the waste drainage. Ensure that the dishwasher is level and that the bottom of the dishwasher is in contact with the floor. It usually usually takes approximately one hour to install a dish washer.
Installation of Washing Machine – installation of a washing machine requires that there is close access of electricity, water supply and waste drainage. The water supply required will depend on the connectors provided on the washing machine. Some machines have got one connector whilst others have two connectors; one for the hot water supply and the other for the cold water supply. It usually usually takes approximately one hour to install a washing machine.
Installation or of Fitting New Mixers – mixer taps come in different types. There is a mixer tap which uses one handle to turn on the water. This mixer tap controls the temperature of the water by moving it from side to side and the water flow is controlled by moving the handle up and down. There is a mixer tap with two taps fitted to it; one controlling the hot water and the other controlling the cold water. Fitting new mixers usually takes approximately one hour.
Placement of Geyser Element – you will need to replace your element when you face problems such as not getting hot water. The plumber should have experience in geyser mechanics and electronics. Replacing a geyser element usually takes thirty minutes.
Replacement of Thermostat – the temperature of your hot water is set on the thermostat which is found on the outside of the geyser. You will notice a faulty thermostat when you are not getting hot water. Thermostat replacement is done by pulling out the faulty thermostat and replacing it with a new one. Replacing a thermostat usually takes two hours.
Replacement of Tap Washers – a leaking tap is fixed by replacing a worn out tap washer. The tap washer is replaced on the tap that is producing the leak by dismantling the tap to remove the worn out tap washer and replace it with the new one. Replacing tap washers usually takes thirty minutes.
Replacement of Basin Washers – a basin washer is replaced when there is a leak from the basin tap. The worn out washer is replaced by dismantling the leaking tap to remove the worn out washer and replace it with a new one. Replacing basin washers usually takes thirty minutes.
Replacement of Sink Washers – a sink washer is replaced when there is a leak from the sink tap. The worn out washer is replaced by dismantling the leaking tap to remove the worn out washer and replace it with a new one. Replacing sink washers approximately thirty minutes.
Replacement of Bath Washers – a bath washer is replaced when there is a leak from the bath tap. The worn out washer is replaced by dismantling the leaking tap to remove the worn out washer and replace it with a new one. Replacing bath washers approximately thirty minutes.
